I start my 14th week tomorrow and I am just so excited to be out of the first trimester. I haven't been near as queasy as before and although I haven't quite gotten over being sleepy all the time, I'm hoping that part will pass soon too. I am starting to "show", I guess, because people are commenting on my belly and it's actually starting to get hard and not look much different from day to day like it was before. I am so excited to finally start getting a belly! haha, That may be a little wierd but I can't wait to wear the maternity clothes that I've gotten so far and not have them fall off of me!!! We got to hear Baby Berry's heartbeat again about a week ago and it was 164 bpm this time! Based on the old-wives-tale, that means girl, but I guess we'll wait and see! :)
My parents are very insistant that we have a boy because they never had any and my in-laws are convinced I'm having a girl, lol, so I guess everybody will just have to wait and see. Jonathan and I really don't have a preference, I mean sometimes we want a boy and sometimes we want a girl and honestly, I don't really care - especially with our first, I'll probably have more of a preference with our 2nd but with this one I would be equally as excited for both! My sister-in-law had a dream that I am having a boy with a ton of hair and this changed her mind because she had a feeling from the get-go that we'd have a girl. I have since had a dream that we were at our ultrasound appointment and the baby flashed us and was a girl, so I guess it all just depends on who's dream is right! LOL. We have a for-sure name for a girl but we are totally undecided on a boy so I hope, if it is a boy, that it will at least have a name before it's born! haha.
Well, I guess that's all for now but I'm hoping soon I can start posting "belly pictures" and not look too terrible so maybe I'll do some of those next time.

Week 7
First Ultrasound! We went to our first Doctor's appointment on January 7th (I think) and we had an ultrasound done which showed that we were only 7 weeks, not 8 but that everything was perfect! We got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time (152 bpm) which was just an amazing thing!

The morning of our first Dr's appointment was also the first (and only) time I actually "got sick" - what a time, right? I had been getting queasy a lot of the morning but never actually got sick until that morning BUT I felt better afterwards and I've never gotten sick since.
We scheduled an appointment for our nurse's visit and another follow-up appointment and we were out the door, very quick! I'll go ahead and catch up on the nurse's visit because, honestly, that's not even worthy of another post - ha! The nurse's visit was very quick and all we really did was discuss family histories of this, that and the other that could possibly be wrong. We got a bunch of neat books and such and scheduled our anatomy ultrasound for MARCH 31ST! I am still counting down the days to this because I terribly want to know what the baby is!
Just for fun, here's our "Baby Berry's" first picture :)

Weeks 4-6
Nothing really major went on from week 4 through week 6 (at the time I thought I was a week ahead of what I really was). We told everyone at work within a few days of telling family and I had a few scares with some spotting but everything turned out okay. I didn't have my first Dr's appointment until week 7 (I thought I was 8 weeks) so weeks 4-6 just seemed to drag on and on and on! This was also Christmas and New Years so we stayed pretty busy even though I was so exhausted!
Finding out!
I guess I should catch up to where I am now since I didn't start this blog until 14 weeks...so, let's start from the beginning (oh and I don't know how good I am at blogging but I'll try).
I guess I should start by saying that we tried for well over a year to get pregnant this baby and that we were on the verge of having medical intervention but God had a greater plan and just knew when our time was!
I found out I was pregnant on December 14th and while it was a VERY exciting day for me and Jonathan, it was also a very bad day for my sister. My sister had an appointment in Winston that day (to which I was going with her and my parents) because they found what Ashe called a "tumor" on her brain - so, because of this, I refrained from telling my parents that day because I didn't want to take away from Tiffany. Well, it ended up not being a tumor (stupid Ashe Medical) and Tiffany is fine so I told everybody the next day because I just couldn't hold it in any longer! I think my favorite reaction was my sister-in-law, who had been probing me for months to have a baby, because her mouth literally almost hit the floor. My sister-in-law and her family moved to Japan in January so I knew there were going to be mixed feelings because they wouldn't be here, etc so I was actually a little worried about their reaction but honestly, it was the most fun. We were waiting for them when they came home from shopping one day at my in-law's house and they were a little bewildered on why we were there late on a weekday so they just kept going out to their truck and getting more and more bags so I finally told my nephew and niece and told them to tell their mom & dad when they came back in. Hazel didn't quite get it but Lane yelled as loud as he could at them as they came through the door and said "Momma, Daddy, Uncle and Jessica are gonna have a baby!" and as I waited to see their reaction as they came around the corner I almost peed myself! haha. Holly came around the corner with her jaw dragging the ground and came running to hug me, it was so great! The other funny part was that the conversation that night kept getting changed to other things like my niece choking on cotton at the dentist but our brother-in-law, Marion, kept turning the conversation back to us and our news! It was so fun.
